And since I've got the floor, as it were, am I the only one that wonders what kind of ego you must need to think that a mailing list needs an announcement that you're leaving and an explanation as to why? Does such an ego think that the list (which is evidently not "off-topic" enough to drive the rest of it's members away) will collectively rise up and say, "Wait -- don't go!! We really weren't much of a community before you came, and we just don't know what we'll do without you! If only we had known how much being off-topic bothered you, we never would have done it. Please -- PLEASE!!!! Give us the chance to change all of our thoughts and opinions so that we may adhere exactly and precisely to what you think is appropriate -- we live to bend to your whim, oh great one!
