MySQL, PHP, and Apache running mod_php are a very good, and very popular combination. In my experience learning them is not only fun, but gives you a very marketable skill. If you have any experience with C/C++, or Java programming, or if you've done just about any form of scripting, I think you'll find PHP is pretty easy.
