At least with Linux you can do a lot of your tech support remotely... :)

That's one of the things that I love most, is just how network friendly
unix OS's are. Everyone's jealous when they hear all the fun and
convinient things I can do from anywhere because I can use my home
computer remotely in almost all the same ways I can use it locally.

Sure, maybe that's something that mostly geeks care about, but I can think
of a lot of business people who would really appreciate it, too.

There are all sorts of reasons why people may want Linux over Windows.
Neither one is right for everyone, and so people have to choose based on
what's most important to them. It's not for everyone, but if it's for you,
it an be an amazing thing that opens up all sorts of new possibilities.
