I have an Altus 4200 server (2 athlon cpu chips, 8GB memory) that came
preloaded with SUSE linux. We reloaded it with Redhat Linux but apparently
did not configure the kernel correctly. My system now reports that there is
only 4GB of physical memory and it also appears that the system is
configured to use only 1 cpu. I'm thinking there is something I need to
change in the kernel. What do I need to modify in the kernel config? And if
anyone had a couple of pointers on compiling and installing a new kernel
that would also be helpful.
