For some reason, I can't get mySQL to start up:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] john]# /etc/init.d/mysqld start Timeout error occurred trying to start MySQL Daemon. Starting MySQL: [FAILED]
My mysqld.log file reveals the following:
050330 12:14:53 mysqld started
050330 12:14:53 /usr/libexec/mysqld: Incorrect information in file: './mysql/host.frm'
050330 12:14:53 mysqld ended
I can't seem to find this file...
I'm running Fedora Core 3 (2.6.10) and trying to get mysql 3.23 to work. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a brand new install, or is this an upgrade?
I have noticed several instances of this error when trying to use a newer version of mysql with a .frm file from a previous version of mysql.
