The UUG is working on a new site. The new site is powered by Geeklog(http://geeklog.net), and does almost everything we want it to. There are a couple of things that it doesn't do, that we need done. If you'd like to volunteer to write a plugin here's your oportunity.
Plugin 1 -- Club Library A club library plugin that would store a list of the books we have, a review of them, a picture of their cover, and their checked-out status, and who they're checked out to. The module should have a Librarian mode and a non-librarian mode. The user who is the librarian should be the only one able to see who has the book checked out, everyone else should just be able to see that it is checked out. The Librarian should be able to add and remove books from the list easily. There are probably some more details, and if you're interested, we'll hammer everything out before you start. Plugin 2 -- Screenshots support Currently only the admins can submit stories with pictures in them. We want either a plugin or a modification to the story submission page so that logged in users can submit screenshots. If the screenshot is above a certain size, a resized version should be made so that the story will have the medium (~200 pixles) sized picture inline, but people can click on it to view the full sized image. About the coding... Geeklog is written in PHP, with a mysql backend. We would prefer that the modifications we need were written as plugins so that others could easily use them too. If a plugin is too dificult, we will settle for actual geeklog modification. Plugins should be written according to the geeklog plugin docs (here: http://uug.byu.edu/~stuporglue/docs/plugin.html). Code should be released under an opensource licence, probably the GPL. We run the server and can install whatever programs are needed (such as imagemagick for the image resizing) to make your plugin work. If you're interested in writing one of these, contact me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
