I agree completely.  Almost every time the UUG has had meetings
involving programming, it's either something like "Linux Kernel Modules"
(very Linux-specific), or something like "Introduction to Ruby"
(interpreted languages), both of which I think work well, as long
as they don't outweigh "'cool' things [you] can do with [your] Linux
box" as you put it.
