The worst butchering job I've ever seen was on Hunt For Red October. They cut the film so badly that if you'd never seen the movie before you'd be really lost. So not every job is equal.

Office Space from Comedy Central turned out to be edited very well (although they left in 2 scenes that needn't have been there at all even on TV).
