oh, what about thunder bird.  It is more of a swiss army knife than a
dedicated client, but it does handle newsgroups and should be ported to osx.
If only linux was about do one thing and do it well as once it was...
but no, Thunderbird does mail, rss and newsgroups and probably other
things too.  At least it isn't as aggregated as the mozilla suite (even
though it hasn't come much farther).
