Hey there, I don't know if anyone is interested in this, but there's a new site LaLa.com that lets you swap CDs with people. It's $1.00 per CD, plus $0.50 shipping. You list what you have and want to get rid of, and mark what you want to get. When a match comes up, it gets shipped to you. When someone requests something of yours, you ship it out.
I thought it was pretty cool since you can get whole non-DRM-CDs for only $1.50. And the price point is low enough for me, that I'll be more likely to use it. Plus, next time my wife wants a song off of iTunes, we'll just get the whole CD for about that much. Here's a page about the service... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/03/07/lala_launch/ Which is in invite-only beta. Which you can get here: <quote who="LaLa.com"> Thanks for the note, pls do invite Brian and anyone you'd like through the following link: http://www.lala.com/invite/prereg </quote> It's free to sign up for, to browse the CD selections, and to post your own CDs. The first CD shipped to you is free (If I understand right), but after that you'll need a CC# Oh yeah, they claim that 20% of revenues go to artists...don't know how they'd split that up, but seems like a nice ideal. :-D Hope someone finds that usefull/interesting, -- Michael Moore ------------------------------- www.stuporglue.org -- Donate your used computer to a student that needs it. -------------------- BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ The opinions expressed in this message are the responsibility of their author.
