No, reinstalling windows is not necessary.  You may need to free up some
space on your hard drive so that the friendly GRuB can load windows and
linux from a boot menu choice.

Many howto's state that you need to have the /boot of Linux before 4GB, but
IIRC its now actually at a limit of 137GB so just resize, and install
Linux!!
