Ryan,

Install the free version of VMWare ... Then you can keep your Windows
configuration, and install Linux in VMWare, and you don't even have to
dual-boot.  It gives a great way to experience both environments at the same
time without all of the hassle ...

Sorry but I've got a dumb question (as someone who doesn't know much about
computers much less linux).

I've got a bunch of (windows-based) software on my computer that takes an
act of congress to get installed, so, if I want to dual boot my computer
with windows and linux (which I gather is what the installfest is all about,
please correct me if I'm wrong), will I have to reinstall all of my windows
software again?
