Yesterday, Dr. Seppi and I were brainstorming about using ebtables as
both of you have tried, and we realized that we would have this problem
with iptables.  So sad. :(

However, I think it would be great to have two or three modes, one of
which would be the ebtables solution, and another would be masquerading.
Then, we could let users choose a solution on a configuration page.

I'm glad you were able to get this to work.  It's a really cool
approach.
