I've constructed a similar setup. The bridging idea is great and I agree that it is the cleanest solution. The only thing about this solution that I have found is that the bridge requires an IP address and I believe many ISPs don't like handing out 2 addresses for a single residence. I may be wrong with that assumption and please correct me if I am. This issue (as understood by myself) has been a stumbling block for me. Also, in case anyone else wants to setup the same sort of setup that Joshua did, I found this tutorial on how to do it. http://freshmeat.net/articles/view/1433/. I've used it and it worked for me.
