Perhaps none. As I said, we've built Island from the perspective of how can
we improve the educational experience of existing students by allowing them
to form online communities which enrich their classroom experience. As a
side benefit, students can prove their worth to potential employers. Also,
as Drupal is an open platform, it is easy to hook Drupal into LinkedIn or
other professional social networks so BYU.

So would you and other alumni join a BYU only Island-like service? Most I'd
guess wouldn't at least not to participate in the different groups. I see
the same thing on ISys mailing lists and Island. There are some alumni who
enjoy participating in online communities so keep participating after
they've left, but most don't.

But I'm suggesting that a social platform could be built to support both use
cases -- enhancing student learning and as a networking device for alumni.
