ID3 Editor + 1 I'm most interested in an app that will organize music using a tag-based system, store all of the music in a hidden ~/.Music then recreate the artist/album directory structure in ~/Music/ under playlist tag/folders such as "Stuff I like", "Christmas Music" with only symlinks in that directory structure (but omiting empty directories that don't have any music tagged).
I don't like relying on a music player's database to create my playlists. I'd rather just load a folder. This dream app of mine would likely use a database, but if the database were blown away it could easily be rebuilt because it would read the folders containing symlinks as tags. I've already got a script that will tag pictures based on their current folder names, sort them in ~/.Pictures chronologically, recreate symlinks in the folders where they were, and replace all duplicates with symlinks. It works okay. AJ ONeal
