I'm all too familiar with those lines. Normally, in my case, there's a
little tick-tick sound that goes along with it.
This is the point that you use your warranty and get a replacement drive.
Is your box particularly hot? I killed a few hard drives because I was
running too hot.
dd_rescue (the GUN flavor) will be your friend to transfer the data to the
replacement drive.
