So, I was trying to upgrade from Fedora 12 to Fedora 14 yesterday, and it
left things quite broken. Well, not totally broken, because a lot of things
still work, but I've noticed two problems in particular and I can't find
anywhere how to solve them.

The first is that whenever I try to use yum, it gives me this:

matt:~$ sudo yum update
[sudo] password for matt:
Loaded plugins: presto, refresh-packagekit
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://rpm.livna.org/mirrorlist error was
14: PYCURL ERROR 6 - ""
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository:
livna. Please verify its path and try again

(this is after having done it once; the regular fedora repos go fine, it
just dies on livna). I saw somewhere online that it might just be that the
livna mirror isn't in sync with the new version of fedora yet, or something?
Andrew was telling me that Fedora 14 was done and almost released, they
were just waiting for the mirrors to all get the packages, or something. So
I figured it wouldn't be a problem to upgrade to Fedora 14 a few days early.
 I guess not.

The other problem is that I can't use vim. vi will work, but trying to use
vim gives me this error message:

vim: error while loading shared libraries: libperl.so: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory

I am guessing that's because some packages aren't installed right or aren't
in sync. When it was listing packages during the upgrade (I just used the
"preupgrade" command), I noticed that some of the packages were .f13 and
some were .f14 - maybe that was the problem?

So, my question is, what do I do? Is there a way to fix these problems
without reinstalling? Do I just need to wait for the mirror to fix itself?
Can I temporarily remove that repo so that I can use yum for other things,
like maybe fixing vim? Would that fix vim? Should I just reinstall?

Thanks,
Matt
