My suggestion, if the tapping noise bothers you, is to get a loud exhaust
system. This usually covers most clattering, pinging, and clanking :)

Seriously, I doubt it's a real engine problem, but a good set of slip-ons or
a full exhaust system header will cover most of the engine noises....
