BW,
You need an ohm meter .... There is only one pickup coil on your bike
... it has two wires .... the two wires travel from under the left
side of the engine up behind the rear ignition coils ... There is a
connector there in that mess, (behind the rear ignition coils), that
has two wires in it ... orange and black .... the pair that is braided
wire is connected to the pickup coil .. the plastic insulation orange
and black head to the ignitor. Disconnect the connector and use the
ohm meter to measure the resistance between the orange and black wires
heading back to the pickup coil ... you need to see around 100 ohms.
If you don't .. .the ignitor will not receive a pulse .. and you will
not get any spark. If you are not familiar with using an ohm meter ..
take the bike to a dealer. Or ... if you are a VMOA member .. ask a
member in your area for assistance.
