I think the OEM provide excellent protection. I have dropped my Max(OH THE
THOUGHT OF IT MAKES ME CRINGE!!!) once with these in place. There was no
damage to any parts at all. The case guard bent, but after I got him right
side up again, a simple shove with my foot and the case guard was true again.
Walkers seem to be a little flimsy to me. Just a coon-ass opinion.

PS: do NOT ever park Mr. Max on a decent grade with the front tire pointing
down hill. You might find that he tends to retract his side stand on his own
and lay down for some well deserved rest.
