I have consistently seen ZX-9R's run 10:50 passes here in SC.  I have also seen stock 
Max's run 11.5 - 12.20's.  Either You are a REALLY good rider or your buddy is a 
REALLY bad rider.  A 00 ZX-9r is 136+ rwhp and around 170 lbs lighter dry than a max.  
Rider makes all the difference.
