I've seen that myself. The clue was that the pump DID build pressure
and shut off, I had water at some faucets, but not all of them. Soooo...
I disassembled the little screen/areator on the kitchen faucet and found
it full of crud, just as you describe.
Plumbing is usually very easy to trouble-shoot if you understand how it
works; see my earlier recommendation on Livingston's manual.
OH!
There is one more little 'gotcha' on SOME trailers: There's a valve that
bypasses the pump to allow filling of the freshwater tank from the
system while connected to city water. If that valve is open, the pump
will simply recirculate the water and never build pressure. One clue is
that you will also have no (or very low) pressure when connected to city
water. (I consider it somewhat risky to use because you can easily
overfill the tank and damage it if you neglect to remove the outside
fill cap)
It's embarrasing to admit, but I forgot to close that valve when first
testing the water system in our A/S and had the pump apart TWICE, bench
tested and all. We found the problem when my buddy was inside the
trailer while I turned on the city water and he heard the "rushing"
sound as the supply tank was being filled. The worst part was that I had
seen that valve in its hidden location, knew exactly what its function
was, and plain forgot the darn thing when it came time to get the water
system going.
Our Avion has a very small valve with the same function, but my buddy
tells me that neither of the 2 A/S trailers that he's owned incorporated
that feature.
