I save all of my .psd files for the modules that I've created just for this.  
Several weeks after I had done it, someone pointed out one night a couple of 
relatively minor errors with the map for "The Mighty Endeavor".  Loaded up the 
.psd and within 10 minutes I had the corrected map ready in an update for the 
module.  

Those layered files can get to be quite large though.  A map that's like 
2200x2600 (or so) with a good bit of layers can be upwards of 200+mb.  

I'm doing the maps for the upcoming game "Red Star Rising" from MMP.  Those 
files were getting so big that I had to split my .psd's into quarters.  
Combined it was over a gig in size and my computer was just refusing to even 
open the thing except on a very fresh reboot with everything else unloaded.
