In short - Yes. 256mb is very low RAM for a computer by today's standard. Most off the shelf computer units will have at least 512mb - more is better :-)

Memory Requirement of a Dressed-Up Vassal Mod? Hi, Everyone... I was loading Ardennes '44 (G. Krockover) for the first time--beautiful, for sure--just to take a look. (Can't seem to find it easily for sale and will contribute to Vassal.org should I decide to play it.) I zoomed out the default map view once, then, during second-stage zooming, the game nearly froze, followed by an error message that stated that I had run out of memory. This happened twice, even after reinstalling Vassal. I have 256MB RAM. Should I install more RAM to accommodate some of the newer, bigger games? Thanks so much, W.
