I hadn't used this particular function in a private window before, so I wasn't entirely sure how it was supposed to work. Then it appears the problem I am having with the private windows is that the button on the toolbar is not available to other players, despite having checked the "visible to all players" box. This came up in playtesting the module with others online. Any idea what might be causing this to not work?
The game piece inventory sounds like just what I needed. Thanks for all the responses.
