I actually DID rename a few files, and that was my problem. I peeked the java source code and came to the conclusion that it doesn't matter if I also change the internal referenced links to match the file names. So I have a nice new build that reflects all the upgraded changes and it works great. Thanks! BTW the .dat files are scenario set-ups that are saved with the .dat extension, that way they don't get over-written during subsequent saves. The only other bugaboo is that my mac (and everyone elses who uses music instrument files) thinks .mod files are music synthesizer sound bank modules.
