Modules are just zip files. If you unzip a module, you'll find a directory called 'images', which contains all of the images stored in the module. You can delete unused images from there, and rezip the module. There is no need to insert dummy images into a module. We do intend eventually to include a way to purge unused images other than by hand, but until then it can be done as I've described. -- J.
