I finally got around to using VMWareConverter to easily & successfully copy over an old WinXP drive to a laptop running Ubuntu 10.04. I must admit, the only problem that I had was that VMWareConverter did the copy at 1.6MBps across a 10Mbps wire. Conversion went well, fired up VMWarePlayer and the machine easily came on.
Now, before I added VMWareTools to the machine I fired up VB 3.2.8 and tried to use the VDMK from the VMWare folder. The machine came on & gave me the WinXP startup, but never made it to the login screen; instead all I get is a black screen following the startup screen. Any advise on what I am doing wrong? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Start uncovering the many advantages of virtual appliances and start using them to simplify application deployment and accelerate your shift to cloud computing. http://p.sf.net/sfu/novell-sfdev2dev _______________________________________________ VBox-users-community mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/vbox-users-community
