I think it belongs only to timer/clock (not network card), and only Windows
7+ (not XP).
The good news, is that I have VirtIO network drivers for Windows (XP...7).
The bad news, is that VirtIO itself in VirtualBox is not optimized and
gives lower performance than Intel E1000 network emulation. (but I tested
it years ago.)
