Hello: I'm having an issue with a windows 7 host, ubuntu 14.04 guest. At seemingly random times the network frequently goes down ... no log messages .. no information any way. If I run a wireshark capture I get loads of ICMP "Destination unreachable (Port unreachable)" messages from my box (192.168.0.15) to the DNS (192.168.0.3)
My routing table is: [vagrant@vagrant-ubuntu-trusty-64/var/log]$ route -n Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 0.0.0.0 192.168.0.2 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0 169.254.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 1000 0 0 eth0 172.17.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 docker0 192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0 I've run with dhcp, with static IP/routes, changing the networking ip addresses (10.x to 192.x), installing a DNS caching service (bind9) .... nothing has fixed it. The network can be working for a few minutes then die for a few minutes. This is for INTERNAL company IP addresses (ping will stop working too) as well as external IP addresses .. so it's not a DNS thing specifically. Anyone have any similar experiences? Any tips to try? It's killing me and making the entire setup something I can't reliably give anyone in my company to use. Thank you.
