Hi there,
Maybe some of you can shed some light about this. I'm using the latest
Linux MINT (18, code-name Sarah), which is just Ubuntu with all needed
software pre-installed (propietary bits and codecs).
cat /etc/debian-version shows :
jessie/sid
So following the instructions at
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads
I proceed to download and add the oracle key to my system, which worked ok.
Then I edit /etc/apt/sources.list
which now shows
#deb cdrom:[Linux Mint 17.3 _Rosa_ - Release i386 20160105]/ trusty contrib
main non-free
deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian jeesie contrib
But when I do a sudo apt-get update, I get this error:
Err http://download.virtualbox.org jeesie/contrib i386
Packages
404 Not Found [IP: 190.94.187.18 80]
Ign http://download.virtualbox.org jeesie/contrib

E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones
used instead.
So, what did I do wrong?

PS: It would be nice if Linux MINT could be also added to the wiki, in the
section about Debian based distros... just to people googling for "Linux
Mint virtualbox install repo" could have more chances of landing on the
wiki page. TIA.
