Thanks David for your help. Very glad to know that I can have the Image file on the 2nd HD. Following your suggestions, I got as far as clicking on the select icon. But I was unable to find a drive letter as I was going to use the unallocated space on the 2nd HD. I then set up an 8 GB Ext 2 logical partition for the Ubuntu 6.06 Image file, and gave it the letter N.
Unfortunately, when I went through setting up the VM again and clicked on the select icon, the N drive was not visible. Tried a few more combinations, but without success. So, I regret to say that I failed to make much progress. I should mention that I have downloaded Ubuntu and burned it to a CD ISO, and have been using this live CD for a few weeks. However, having been with Windows for many years (and DOS before that), I think it is time to take a serious look at Linux. When I read about VMs, it looked like the perfect way to go. Any further suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Bob
