Do you have TCP/IP and Windows networking Client installed and enabled in WinXP
? (in the properties of the network card)

Subject: [vbox-users] 1.4.0 and still no shared Folder

Hi;

seems I have no luck with shared folders and VirtualBox.

Host is Ubuntu Feisty, guest is Win XP.

I tried the first available OpenSource Version, and since then a lot of things
may have been improved. Esp. the bidirectional clipboard is very handy.

Anyway I still cannot access a shared folder from withon the Win XP guest.

The output of VBoxManage showvminfo shows:

Shared folders:

Name: 'exchange', Host path: '/opt/exchange' (machine mapping)

But trying to attach it, it results in an error:

C:\>net use X: \\vboxsrv\exchange
Systemfehler 53 aufgetreten.

Der Netzwerkpfad wurde nicht gefunden.

The permissions on linux host is:
ls -al /opt/exchange/
insgesamt 88
drwxrwxrwx 2 kp vboxusers 4096 2007-01-25 18:05 .
drwxr-xr-x 16 root root 4096 2007-06-08 15:35 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 kp vboxusers 74665 2007-01-25 18:05 6wall.xml

kp is member of vboxusers.

Any hints?

TIA
kp
