Hello, A couple of ideas - I don't know if they will help. First of all, are you using the OSE version or the binary? It might be best to use the binary version at least to get things working, because that way you are sure of avoiding problems related to version differences between the guest additions and VirtualBox (since the Windows shared folders drivers are not supplied with the OSE version for legal reasons). Any you should make sure that you have installed the additions from the binary version you are using.
The name is actually \\vboxsvr\exchange, although 1.4.0 should recognise both spellings. Still, give it a try with that spelling.
