Greg, thanks for your comments... I did try dhcp and that did not work for me either. In either case setting it up static as I did should work too. Another question I have:
Is there a way to go and change the default network that VBOX sets up for NAT (10.0.2.0)... Is there a config file where the networking settings are kept?
