Another option would be to make a note of the vm settings for each
machine under windows, by either writing them down, or by saving a
text file with the output of vboxmanage showvminfo, and then
recreating each machine by hand with the same settings in
GNU/linux. The advantage to this process over exporting/importing is
that if the hd images are vdi files, they won't be converted to a vmdk
I believe as a side effect of the export/import process.
