Such image properties don't survive the export, as the OVF standard
excludes the image format stuff completely. So VirtualBox exports images
always as VMDK images (in the compressed variant, to minimize space
consumption and transfer time).
On import, VirtualBox always creates a growing VMDK file.
How is the behaviour, if I export from Windows and import in Linux?
The behavior is identical on all platforms.
