We're aware of that blog posting, and have contacted the blogger for
more information. So far we couldn't reproduce this issue.
VirtualBox does not intentionally make any changes to usb-related sysfs
settings as part of the installer.
Not sure if it is a virtualbox issue or a packaging issue.
We're not sure either.
If anyone can confirm or deny this issue we'd be very interested - the
install script is pretty simple, so as soon we can reproduce it
somewhere it's just a matter of trying a few modified variants of the
script to see what might cause this side-effect.
