I think I remember Vista's EULA expressly disallowing use in a virtual

I did, previously, install Windows 7 Professional in VirtualBox on an
XP Pro host, if it helps...

I went and bought Windows 7. It's an iso downloaded from digital river.

I've tried to install it on a vm under 3.1.2 and Fedora 12. All goes well
until I put in the activation code, which is invalid. After 7 tries I'm left
with two theories:

1. MS screwed me. The activation code is bad.

2. Win 7 won't install in vbox on a linux host.

Has anybody installed W7 on a linux host?

Well this is Win 7 Pro. Can I install it on an XP host, and then move the vm to linux?

In general, can you create a vm on Windows and run it on linux, and vice versa?
