Hi Alexey,

Your patch for VELOCITY-453 (which is only a week old, btw) needs some
minor attention before it is ready to be committed.
http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VELOCITY-453?page=comments#action_12432856

Most other patches in JIRA are either changes we are not yet sold on
or are unverified fixes. If there are any months-old patches in
particular that you'd like to see committed soon, please point them
out specifically, and consider adding a test case if there isn't one
already. Adding a test case is the best way to convince us (well, me
at least) that a patch is needed and does what is claimed.

The way to get commit access is basically to help out around here.
Write patches and test cases for issues in JIRA that don't have them,
answer questions on the user list, and just generally make yourself
useful. There's more on the subject here:
http://jakarta.apache.org/site/getinvolved.html

We'd love more help, so please jump on in!

Hi,

I am a bit disappointed that the patches are hanging in JIRA for
months. It looks like the project is in state of dormancy.

Sometimes there are spikes of flame activity - the recent one was
"Move to TLP".

The question is - how can I get commit access so I can commit some
useful patches (including my one) ?
