You will be expected to analyze and gather business intent, and then document current business models and workflows. You will need to write requirements documents for automation of these processes, be able to research data in Oracle databases, and ideally as tester, run scripts on Linux to validate that statistical algorithms work as expected. Knowledge of R or another statistical modeling language is a plus. *Keys to the Position:* · Strong communication skills to interface with Quant and IT teams · Ability to quickly produce succinct documentation – specifications, workflow capture, etc. (samples expected) · Linux user experience · Proficient with SQL. Data mining and analysis experience a plus · Experience taking software projects thru the entire SDLC · Experience testing and developing testing plans. · Financial services experience is a plus · Experience using a statistical software package is a plus *Minimum Requirements:* *Required* • Strong communication skills and ability to produce excellent documentation • Proficient in SQL/DML • Strong motivation and ability to work in a fast-paced, small, team-oriented environment that supports a business-critical production environment • QA experience and ability to develop test plans *Preferred* • Oracle rdbms • PL/SQL Developer tool • Prior IT experience at Wellington Management Company *Strong Plus* • Finance knowledge • Strong Math and Statistics knowledge • Data mining knowledge • Experience using a statistical language such as R or Matlab *Applicant must meet MOST of these requirements.* Additional details: The project will automate and productionize quant trading processes. This position is responsible for business analysis, systems analysis and QA. *Responsibilities:* • Requirements gathering and documentation • Systems and integration testing • Partner with Application Architect to review and document business requirements • Partner with Project Managers on estimates, statuses, identifying issues and raising risks • Partner with software developers on requirements and fixing issues. *Qualifications:* The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to put into production software deliverables relevant to complex business problems. Essentially we are looking a BA/QA that can do systems analysis and can quickly work within our technology stack (R, Oracle, SQL, Linux, Perl) and help us document already developed quant models and processes and gather requirements to put them into production. Our plan is to get several apps up and running with R (quant statistics language), some ETL transformation (we tend to use DataStage but not only option), ideally in the cloud (we’re only using AWS).
