What I've heard is that the 6.5.1 client won't properly backup the system registry and cannot restore the system into a bootable state because it doesn't understand the lack of a boot.ini. From what little testing I did here backups work but not restores. YMMV but I wouldn't put anything important out there unless you are sure you can restore. Other suggestions: Use snapshot technologies to pickup the data (VCB, SAN etc..) or use Microsoft's Data Protection Manager to backup the files to a fileshare and pick them up from there as .bkf files.
