I just figured out a workaround for this. Create a new Bookmark Folder and drag your Bookmarks into it. Now when you click on the folder, you'll be able to sort the contents of the folder (either via Bookmarks menu or Actions button at bottom of Bookmarks bar).
You may find the folders to be helpful with general organization, as well. Let me know whether that helps or not.
