I've investigated Qt4 a little (after updating my fedora machine using kde-redhat to get some nice packages).

They've changed the interface far more than I've anticipated. However, I have got much of the main window working with a few hours of coding.

Unfortunately most of the plotting code needs work... :-( There isn't a one to one correspondence to what I've used and the new QPainter. And you can now use float coordinates instead of just integers, which does seem nice. I'm not sure whether I should try abstracting these things out instead of of fixing them...

Qt4 can do a lot of fancy things (see the examples), such as antialiasing.
