Just started tying a few years ago. It was a blood worm from the beginning of Randall kaufmann's little beginning fly tying booklet.

So I went home and got some pigeon feathers and some of my mom's blue and red threads and proceeded to make my very first fly. I still have that fly today and I always wanted to be a fly fisherman. My friends and I always used spinning gear and it wasn't until I moved to Phoenix, AZ. and joined a flyfishing club. A San Carlos Apache Indian taught me how to tie. phxflyt...@cox.net A Freudian slip is when you say one thing but mean your mother. ----- Original Message ----- From: John C. What was your first fly that you tied? Do you still have it? Do you still tie that same pattern and use it for fishing. My first fly (I’ll have to post a picture of it) was a Mickey Finn Streamer w/ Peacock tied over the top. I still have it displayed in a case in our front room. People once and awhile will ask about it. It was the first fly that a beginner fly tying kit instructed me to tie.
