I recently made a "portable" tying desk out of my old cabinet fronts. I replaced the kitchen cabinets & saved the oak fronts; doors & frames. I took one of the smaller doors & frames apart, cut the frame so I had a 2" vertical back & right side to attach to the door front & drilled holes in the side piece for tools. I haven't decided whether I'm going to put dowels in the back for spools or attach a rotating rack for spools & dubbing. I drilled two holes in the front edge to attach my Nor vise. Now I can move my operations to the first floor when Marcie has hens over for basket weaving. I'll have a picture of the prototype later.
