Joyce, i'm pretty sure i know who your refering to as "a new supplier" and i
have to agree that the stuff (hackle) is garbage, to a large degree. If i'm
right bout who (company) your refering to.....Misa and i are on their Pro Team.
They make GREAT dubbings and chenilles and have a real nice MoHair product, and
other good stuff.......but they've got a long way to go with their hackle. And
i have told them this over and over.......seems it's just a very small family
business. They signed us up and quite a few others at the show in Idaho Falls
two years ago. Sent us a ton of stuff and a shirt.....but never really stay in
touch that well. The guy in charge of the team left and went to work for Bass
Pro. So i think the company is floundering or on hard times.......very nice
people, but they need to learn some about genetic hackle. The Marabou they sent
was also terrible in terms of the dye comming off on your hands. So they told
us they'd be working on solving that problem...........but i really don't know.
We've got a chance to join the Whiting team this fall.....so i guess we'll see
how that goes. The other company does make some real nice stuff though. And
their saddles can be used for fishin' flies........depending. There's a certain
degree of twist in much of it. But it's still usable for saltwater flies, Pike
flies and streamers.
