Speaking of bobbins. I have two of the old bobbins that I like better than the
newer ones. They will stop and hold the thread in place. The newer ones seem to
not have that stop and the thread will roll back all the way back to the spool.
Easy fix is to just wrap the thread end on the button on the  post to keep it
from pulling back on the spool. After you do it a few times it will come
naturally. I think Joyce uses a hackle pliers to keep the thread from  rolling
back on the spool.. I asked Norm about this and he said the old springs were
breaking and they modified the bobbins to eliminate the problem. I prefer the
older bobbins.Tony.

I do have the smaller set, but I am a lazy one, so found that I really didn't
need them unless I tied 24s, and as I can't see to tie them on, there is no
need to tie them. I do 22's with no problem at all. I can say this, Norm is
fantastic in his service. I have had to replace the O ring and he sent me  the
correct ones at no charge, has refurbished my vise when I broke it (my fault,
not that of the vise) and when I have a question or need new bobbins, he is
quick to send them. When I tie for show, I find that people want to buy (and
sometimes steal) my bobbins.  When you do tie for groups, I suggest that you
keep your bobbin in your hot little hand at all times or within your sight.

Joyce is much better tier than me but I have found the midge jaws invaluable

I have the standard set of jaws, never needed the smaller or bigger set and I
tie 22-24s and big 2/0s for salmon. These jaws hold everything well. Joyce
