OK Folks,
Just got back from the property, had to walk in from the main road, the
house is intact, as is the roof for the most part. The wind evidently got
under the flashing on the north side and pulled it up in a couple of spots.
With a driving rain and north winds it drove rain in along that edge. The
dry wall on the north side of the bedroom has some pretty bad water damage
on 2 full sheets in the ceiling and on one wall of the closet and side.
Nothing that cant be fixed. Other than that my first attempt at roofing a
house held up pretty well. The road got flooded due to a section of the
ditching being washed out, now I have to find and allocate enough money to
have about 3 dump truck loads of material hauled in to build it back up. We
have a lake about 25' wide and 300' long between the main road and the drive
up to the house. Will take a couple of days for it to dry out so we can
drive into the house. All of the dirt that was our road is somewhere east of
the property. I have already called the county road department so they can
repair the wash out, but our road will be our responsibility. There was
almost 3 inches of water n my rain gauge at the property, so we got a lot.
So all in all, some minor set backs, a wet road, but the house is in
good shape. All I have to do is find a way to finish it in less than 30
days. Thanks to all for the prayers this morning and knowing that our
friends are there.
